Yizhak Ben-Shabat (Itzik)
I am a dedicated researcher with a passion for innovation at the crossroads of 3D computer vision, machine learning, and geometric algorithms. Currently, I'm harnessing the power of deep learning to transform 3D point clouds, driving advancements in surface reconstruction, normal estimation, classification, detection, and action recognition.
My mission is twofold: I strive to develop practical algorithms that will not only shape the technological landscape but also empower individuals by democratizing knowledge through accessibility. In pursuit of this goal, I established the Talking Papers Podcast, a platform where I engage with early career academics and PhD students, facilitating research dissemination and aiding aspiring scholars.
In addition to my strong academic background, including a PhD from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, I received the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Global Fellowship (MSCA-GF) to push my research forward.
